Story 2: "Child of Light and Darkness"
Dark Phoenix returns to Earth to face the X-Men and her old life. After a pitched battle with her former teammates, Jean is restored to her right mind after a furious assault by Xavier. As the team is celebrating the purging of the Phoenix force, they vanish into thin air.
Story 3: "When Dreams Are Dust"
Scott thinks he is about to get adopted from the orphanage but Mr. Sinister intervenes, and the couple that tried to help Dr. Hanover figure out the mysteries of Scott's past are killed in an airplane crash.
