Story 1: "The Battle of Springfield"
The assault on Springfield concludes with the Joes taking the city, and rescuing Ripcord, but not before all the Cobras head off for Cobra Island as Serpentor leads a distracting counterattack. Storm Shadow miraculously returns to life after using an old ninja trick to save him from the Baroness's fatal shots earlier; while with the Dreadnoks and Zartan's sister Zarana he returns with memories that were used to create Serpentor last issue. Hawk has to face the music as all Cobra evidence in Springfield has been destroyed.
Story 2: "G.I. Joe Special Missions: Best Defense"
A small Joe team is sent to stop a hi-jacked plane from crashing into a restricted chemical plant in Russia causing untold destruction.
